Rapid Changes, Slow Response?

Change is the only thing constant in this world. Yet, until now, we as human beings couldn’t say that we’re ready for it. As technology evolves, the changes that come with it becomes challenging and even disrupting. Take a look at what the on-demand technology we’re getting into.

On-demand has become a by-word these days. Who doesn’t recognize the term? Anyone who wants instant access wants something on demand. On-demand technology challenges us individuals to work things differently. It also challenges organizations, and society, to think of ways on how to keep up.

Take for example Uber, the taxi service that defined on-demand technology. It all started with an app downloaded from a cloud to a gadget and this technology changed the way we take a taxi ride. It became a world-wide phenomenon, forcing some established taxi companies to fold. A disruption because it affected not only the people, but also an institution, and a society. And the affected governments are struggling, slow to respond to the rapid changes. Because, let’s face it, they’re still holding on to traditions of how it should run things.

I guess it’s time for the people, the industry, and the government to find ways to bridge the gap. How about coming up with a common digital platform to help us keep up with the changes technology brings us? Definitely, no one wants to be left behind.
